Various Japanese media reported the death of Kazuki Takahashi (real name Kazuo Takahashi ), author of the original manga Yu-Gi-Oh! , at the age of 60 years. His body was found by the Japan Coast Guard on July 6 off the coast of Nago City, Okinawa, dressed in full diving gear.
Both the coastguard and the police are investigating the events leading up to Takahashi's death. Regarding the notification, a person from a passing ship called the Japanese maritime hotline to report an apparent corpse floating 300 meters from the coast of the tourist city of Nago, around 10:30 a.m. of last July 6.
Takahashi began publishing the manga in Weekly Shonen Jump magazine in September 1996 and ended it in March 2004, with Shueisha publishing the work compiling a total of thirty-eight volumes. The manga has inspired an entire multimedia franchise, including multiple spin-off manga and anime series, a card game, and numerous video games. Many of the franchise's incarnations involve the fictional card game known as Duel Monsters , wherein each player sets battle strategies based on the available Monsters in their deck of cards.
The original manga got two anime adaptations, the first produced by Toei Animation studios and broadcast between April and October 1998, and the second produced by NAS and animated by Studio Gallop , titled Yu-Gi-Oh! Duel Monsters , broadcast between April 2000 and September 2004. Since then, this is one of the most successful multimedia franchises in history.
Overview of Yu-Gi-Oh!
Stalkers usually target someone frail and weak, someone like Yuugi Mutou. Her beautiful childhood friend, Anzu Mazaki, is always there to defend him, but he cannot depend on her forever. Katsuya Jonouchi, who is almost always accompanied by his verbal sparring partner Hiroto Honda, doesn't seem like a bad person either, despite the fact that he always brings Yuugi trouble. But above all, Yuugi wants to have a true friend who understands him and never betrays him. Yuugi treasures his Millennium Puzzle, an ancient Egyptian artifact that was brought to his grandfather's game store.
Believing that solving the puzzle will grant his wish, he completes the puzzle, unleashing a new personality within him: the soul of the "King of Games." Dark, twisted, strong and reliable, the new personality named Yami Yuugi is the complete opposite of Yuugi. Faced with any injustice towards him, Yami Yuugi takes over Yuugi's body and forces the opponent to participate in a "Shadow Game". The stakes are high, as whoever loses will have to taste the darkness that resides in his own heart.
