Synopsis for Shokugeki no Souma
Fifteen-year-old Souma Yukihira dreams of one day surpassing his father's culinary skills and taking over the kitchen of his small family restaurant. However, her aspirations are cut short when her father announces the closure of the restaurant, since she must travel abroad for matters related to the kitchen.
Meanwhile, Souma is urged by his father to attend Tootsuki Culinary Academy: a world-renowned school where expulsions of incompetent students are common. Due to the rigor of the curriculum, any student who manages to graduate is recognized as a chef of high caliber. Reluctantly accepting the proposal, Souma heads to the Tootsuki High School Division to take the entrance exam. Little does he know, a new chapter of his life will soon begin - one that brings new friends, daring rivalries and sleepless nights.
