Author Hiroyuki , through his official Twitter account, reported that the Kanojo mo Kanojo ( Girlfriend, Girlfriend ) manga franchise will have an important announcement on September 16. The author did not give any indication of what it could be, but while some wait for a possible second season of the anime adaptation, others indicate that it could be about the last plot arc of the work or simply the release of the next volume.

Hiroyuki began publishing the manga through Kodansha 's Weekly Shonen Magazine in March 2020. The publisher published the eleventh compiled volume on June 17, followed by the twelfth on September 16 in Japan. Hiroyuki is also the author of manga such as Aho Girl , Doujin Work , and Mangaka-san to Assistant-san to , which have inspired anime adaptations.
The work inspired a twelve-episode anime adaptation produced by Tezuka Productions studios , directed by Satoshi Kuwahara and scripts written by Keiichirou Oochi , which aired during the Summer-2021 season (July-September) . So far there is no information about the production of a second season.
Sinopsis de Kanojo mo Kanojo
After harboring unrequited love for several years, Naoya Mukai finally gets a date with his childhood friend, Saki Saki. However, just as he tries to commit to this relationship, he receives an abrupt confession from Nagisa Minase. At first, Naoya tries to reject her but is soon overwhelmed by the feelings of him not wanting to hurt her. Trying to avoid betraying his girlfriend's trust in him, Naoya thinks of a "solution" to make them both happy: dating them both. Naturally, Saki rejects the idea, but through Naoya and Nagisa's persistence, she ends up agreeing. With this, a three-member romance begins between Naoya, his girlfriend, and his other girlfriend, who already have a relationship that deviates from the social norm.
