On the official site for the anime adaptation of the manga written and illustrated by Shuuichi Shigeno , MF Ghost , the project's third promotional video was revealed. The video announces new members of the voice cast and also confirms character cameos from the prequel, Initial D. According to the video, the premiere remains scheduled for this year, without a specific date.
Hiragi began publishing the manga in Kodansha 's Weekly Young Magazine in September 2017, and the publisher published the eleventh compiled volume in May 2021, followed by the twelfth in September 2021 in Japan. Hiragi is also the author of the popular Initial D multimedia franchise , which ran in the same magazine between July 1995 and July 2013, with a total of forty-eight compiled volumes and multiple anime adaptation seasons each produced by a variety of studies.
