In the latest issue of Weekly Shonen Jump magazine, it was announced that Yuusei Matsui 's The Elusive Samurai ( Nige Jouzu no Wakagimi ) manga will get an anime adaptation. Likewise, in the official account for this project the first promotional video was released where it is announced that the CloverWorks studios will be in charge of the animation of the series. New details about this production will be announced during the next edition of the AnimeJapan convention.

Yuusei Matsui began publishing the manga through Shueisha 's Weekly Shonen Jump magazine in January 2021. This was the author's first serialized publication after a long period of five years after the completion of Ansatsu Kyoushitsu ( Assassination Classroom ) . another of his world-famous works that was also adapted into anime almost a decade ago.
Synopsis of The Elusive Samurai
Eight-year-old Tokiyuki Houjou, the next successor to the Kamakura shogunate, is a boy with no talent for anything more than hide-and-seek. One day, his carefree life is turned upside down when Takauji Ashikaga brutally seizes power from the Kamakura, ending his reign. Rescued by a self-proclaimed prophetic priest, Tokiyuki manages to escape with his life. He must now elude those who try to kill him while he recruits comrades who can help him restore the Kamakura shogunate to its former glory.
