On the official site for the anime adaptation of the novels written by Ayano Takeda and Nikki Asada , Hibike! Euphonium ( Sound! Euphonium ), a new promotional video for the OVA “ Tokubetsuhen Hibike! Euphonium: Ensemble Contest .” The video confirms that the premiere is scheduled for August 4 in theaters in Japan , and reveals that Ayaka Ohashi will play the new character Tsubame Kayama and that TRUE will perform the theme song.
It should be noted that Kyoto Animation studios had previously reported that the " Joint Concert Arc " would have " a medium-length anime adaptation " (longer than a short film, but shorter than a movie). The novels inspired a thirteen-episode anime adaptation produced by Kyoto Animation studios , directed by Tatsuya Ishihara and scripts written by Jukki Hanada , released in April 2015.
