As announced during the AnimeJapan 2023 event, Horimiya 's popular anime adaptation will be back with a new season titled " Horimiya: Piece ." The video is presented as a "concept preview", and shows some scenes of the characters and episodes of the work.

Let's remember that " Horimiya: Piece " is not exactly a second season, considering that the first concluded the story of the original manga. Instead, this new season will adapt stories that weren't covered in the original series that aired in 2021. This new series keeps both the original voice cast and production team at CloverWorks , and the video again confirms that it's scheduled to premiere. for next July in Japan .

On the other hand, the first season was broadcast in Japan during the Winter-2021 season (January-March) , with a total of thirteen episodes and with Funimation broadcasting it for the West. The manga was published through Square Enix 's Monthly G Fantasy magazine since October 2011, and ended in March 2021.

Horimiya Synopsis

Though admired at school for her kindness and academic prowess, high school student Kyouko Hori has been hiding another side of her. With her parents often away from home due to her work, Hori has to take care of her younger brother and do chores, with no time to socialize outside of school.

Meanwhile, Izumi Miyamura is seen as a brooding otaku who wears glasses. However, he is actually a kind person and inept at studying. Additionally, he has nine piercings hidden behind his long hair, and a tattoo along his back and left shoulder. By sheer chance, Hori and Miyamura pass each other outside of school, neither looking as the other would expect. These seemingly polar opposites become friends, sharing a side they've never shown anyone.
