The author Hiroyuki revealed through his Twitter account that the Kanojo mo Kanojo ( Girlfriend, Girlfriend ) manga will end in only four chapters . It should be remembered that the author had already reported since October of last year that he had already decided on the end of the work, but at that time he did not report how much time was left for serialization.
Hiroyuki began publishing the manga through Kodansha's Weekly Shonen Magazine in March 2020. The work inspired a twelve-episode anime adaptation produced by Tezuka Productions studios , under the direction of Satoshi Kuwahara and scripts written by Keiichirou Oochi , which aired during the Summer-2021 (July-September) season . A second season is in production.
Sinopsis of Kanojo mo Kanojo
After harboring unrequited love for several years, Naoya Mukai finally gets a date with his childhood friend, Saki Saki. However, just as he tries to commit to this relationship, he receives an abrupt confession from Nagisa Minase. At first, Naoya tries to reject her but is soon overwhelmed by his feelings of not wanting to hurt her. Trying to avoid betraying his girlfriend's trust in him, Naoya thinks of a "solution" to make them both happy: dating them both. Saki naturally rejects the idea, but through Naoya and Nagisa's persistence, she ends up agreeing. With this, a three-way romance begins between Naoya, his girlfriend, and his other girlfriend, who already have a relationship that deviates from the social norm to begin with.
