A press release confirmed the production of an anime adaptation of the manga written and illustrated by Marcey Naitou , Amagami-san Chi no Enmusubi ( Matchmaking of the Amagami Household ). The announcement was made during a special broadcast for the original manga's second anniversary, but no premiere date or production details were reported.

The statement included a comment by the author:

  • « From the beginning of the serialization, I felt that the work and the fans were very close, and I had a strong desire for the fans to know the anime adaptation before anyone else at the special events dedicated to them. Usually, it would be normal for this to be announced in the main issue of Weekly Shonen Magazine, where it is serialized, but this time the anime production committee and editor in chief understood such strong feelings, and this surprise announcement was made at an event.

Marcey Naitou , who was assistant to author Negi Haruba in the Gotoubun no Hanayome ( The Quintessential Quintuplets ) manga , began publishing the manga through Kodansha 's Weekly Shonen Magazine in April 2021. She had previously published this story as a one-shot in December 2020, but it gained enough prominence to make it his first serialized work.

Sinopsis of Amagami-san Chi no Enmusubi

The series follows Uryuu Kamihate, a high school student who aspires to pass the entrance exams for Kyoto University's medical school. After living in an orphanage for much of his life after his mother died, he comes to live at Amagami Shrine, where the head priests ask him to marry one of his three granddaughters. Uryuu and the Amagami sisters also have to face various problems, such as the danger of closing the sanctuary for financial reasons. Through flashforwards, it is implied that Uryuu will end up marrying one of the sisters.
