STEINS;GATE: Now you can 'drink' Mayuri's slap

In a bold and surprising twist, Tokyo-based company NN Drinks has brought its latest creation to market: Mayushii's Slap” energy drink . Inspired by an iconic moment from the STEINS;GATE anime and video game franchise , this drink promises to give consumers a jolt of energy comparable to a slap in the face.

The idea behind “Mayushii's Slap” is based on a pivotal scene in the STEINS;GATE narrative, where the protagonist Rintaro Okabe faces the overwhelming emotional burden of trying to travel back in time to prevent a tragedy. His childhood friend, Mayushii, decides that the best way to remind him of the strength she carries within her is with a non-verbal motivation in the form of a slap. NN Drinks has captured this feeling and transformed it into an energy drink.

Although there is no actual physical impact involved, consuming the contents of the 50-milliliter bottle of “Mayushii's Slap” is sure to give you a jolt, as it contains 120 milligrams of caffeine, equivalent to three cups of black coffee. In addition to vitamins C, B2 and B6, the drink contains energizing ingredients such as honey, turtle extract, ginseng extract and royal jelly. Despite this, NN Drinks ensures that the taste is fruity and easy to drink.

The label of the “Mayushii's Slap” is full of scientific kanji and warnings. The drink is not recommended for pregnant women, children and people in poor physical condition, as these are groups that should not be slapped either. Even for people who want to get slapped in the face, NN Drinks suggests sticking to one bottle a day, as consuming more could cause a jittery feeling instead of energy.

Also, fans of the STEINS;GATE series should note that the company notes that "failing to drink this will result in 'zero divergence' of caffeine towards the Beta World Line." Since Tokyo's Akihabara district is a major stage at STEINS;GATE , the “Mayushii's Slap” was first available at a special pop-up shop just outside the first-floor entrance of the neighborhood's iconic Radio Kaikan building on November 29. July, starting at 10:30 am

If you already had plans for that day and don't have the time travel skills to rearrange your schedule, you can also order the “Mayushii's Slap” through the NN Drinks online store, priced at 660 yen (4 .60) for a single bottle or 5,500 yen ($38.40) for a pack of 10 , with shipments scheduled for August 20.
