On the official site for the anime adaptation of the manga written and illustrated by Kohei Horikoshi , Boku no Hero Academia , the production of a new OVA was announced that will premiere on October 20 in theaters in Japan , although it will have an early release during the New York Comic Con on October 13, and eventually in the global Crunchyroll catalog .
Titled “ UA HEROES BATTLE ,” the story takes place just before the “Endeavor Agency Arc” in season five. It begins with Mirio Togata bringing a game of cards to the first-year students of UA Academy, who are not allowed to leave their dorm during winter break.
For his part, Horikoshi began publishing the Boku no Hero Academia manga in Shueisha 's Weekly Shonen Jump magazine in July 2014 and entered its final story arc in March 2021. The anime adaptation produced by BONES studios is has been ongoing since April 2016, inspiring a total of six seasons to date and a seventh already in production.
