This week the “ Newtype Anime Awards 2023 (The Moving
Pictures Festival Vol.13) ” event was held , which rewards anime
productions for film and television released in the period from July
2022 to June 2022. 2023 , as part of the editorial department of the
well-known Monthly Newtype magazine in Japan. This then
implies that they are prizes prepared and delivered by Kadokawa .
A variety of awards were presented at the ceremony hosted
by Nippon Broadcasting System announcer Naoki Yoshida ; Monthly
Newtype editor-in-chief Kiyoto Kado ; and
voice actress Maika Takai . However, the ones that we
will present in this edition are those corresponding to “ Best Anime
Series ” and “ Best Anime Film ”, respectively.

Among other awards from the same event, it is also worth
mentioning that Bocchi the Rock! received first place awards
in the categories of Best Direction (Keiichirou Saito); Best
Theme Music (Seishun Complex/Kessoku Band), while Mobile Suit
Gundam: The Witch from Mercury also received a variety of awards
for Best Screenplay (Ichirou Ookouchi), Best Character
Design (Mogumo), Best Female Character (Suletta
Mercury in first place, Miorine Rembran in second), Best Soundtrack (Takashi
Oomama), and Best Mecha Design .
