When the first season ended, the second was announced

Arcane Synopsis
The story takes place in the cities of Piltover and Zaun.

these relationships will overflow with the creation of Hextech in Piltover, a
technology with which anyone is able to control magical energy, while in Zaun a
new drug transforms humans into monsters.
