The production company Aniplex published a
new promotional video for the anime adaptation of the light novels written
by Tsutomu Satou and illustrated by Kana Ishida, “Mahouka Koukou
no Rettousei (The Irregular at Magic High School).” The
video announces that the new season will premiere sometime this year in
Japan, and that LiSA will be in charge of
performing the new opening theme.

The work inspired an anime adaptation of twenty-six episodes
produced by the studios Madhouse under the direction of Manabu
Ono, and released in April 2014. Subsequently, a movie was released in June
2017. A second season now produced by the studios 8- BIT premiered
in October 2020 and had thirteen episodes, followed by the special “Mahouka
Koukou no Rettousei: Tsuioku-hen” in December 2021.
Synopsis of Mahouka Koukou no Rettousei
At the dawn of the 21st century, magic, long considered
folklore and fairy tales, has become a systematized technology and is taught as
a technical skill. At the First Preparatory School, the institution for
magicians, students are segregated into two groups based on the score obtained
in the entrance exam: Those who obtain high scores are assigned to the First
