During the AnimeJapan
2024 event , a special video was revealed for the second season of the
anime adaptation of the light novels written by Keiichi Sigsawa and
illustrated by Kougaku Kuroboshi , “ Sword
Art Online Alternative: Gun Gale Online .” The video confirms that
the premiere is scheduled for the Fall-2024 season (October-December) in
Japan, six years after the first season aired.
Keiichi
Sigsawa began publishing the light novels through Kadokawa 's Dengeki Bunko imprint in
December 2014, and they are still continuing with thirteen volumes published to
date. In addition to the manga adaptation by Tadadi Tamori ,
the work was adapted to anime in a twelve-episode series released in the Spring-2018
season (April-June) .
Sinopsis

Dressed
in desert pink and the size of a child, the infamous “Pink Devil” mercilessly
hunts other players in the firearms-centric world of the virtual reality game
Gun Gale Online. But in real life, this feared gamer killer isn't exactly who
anyone would expect. Karen Kohiruimaki, a shy university student from Tokyo,
contrasts greatly with her in-game avatar; In fact, it turns out that she is
also above everyone else, much to her misfortune. Karen towers above everyone
around her, and her insecurity about her height leads her to turn to the
virtual world as an escape.
He starts
one game after another in the hope of manifesting himself as a short, handsome
character, and finally achieves his ideal self in the world of Gun Gale Online.
Delighted with her new character, she throws herself into the game as LLENN,
earning a reputation as a legendary player killer. However, when one of LLENN's
targets gets the best of her, she ends up meeting Pitohui, a skilled but
eccentric woman. Pitohui soon becomes friends with Karen and insists that LLENN
participate in Squad Jam, a battle royale in which teams face each other until
only one remains. LLENN must fight with all her ingenuity and will if she wants
to reach the top.
