As we previously reported, the “ Gotoubun no Hanayome ( The
Quintessential Quintuplets )” franchise has announced its return to
the anime industry with a new project that will feature a completely original
story by author Negi Haruba . Although it has not been
revealed whether it is a new series or a movie, there is one detail that has
already been revealed: the plot.
According to the official statement, it is “a
new original story that will tell the honeymoon between Futaro Uesugi and the
quintuplets.” However, this description raised more than
one eyebrow. Let's remember that “Gotoubun no Hanayome” does not have a “harem
ending”, so it makes no sense to talk about a group honeymoon.
In fact, this announcement has also confused the
Japanese themselves , who were quick to comment on the matter with
their theories:
- « Isn't
one girl supposed to have won in the end? ».
- « A
story where each of the girls tries to seduce a married man. I don't
understand the point of the sisters continuing to meddle in Futaro and
Yotsuba's married life, what's the point? ».
- « The
solution is simply to make routes where each of them has its victory.
These production people simply have no idea what to do .
- « I
guess I don't understand anything about this over-exploited story anymore .»
- « Harem
animes really have the most ridiculous stories. It's a shame that Gotoubun
no Hanayome ended up spreading like this ."
- « I
don't know much about this franchise, but the anime and manga industry
tends to overexploit and unnecessarily extend its most successful stories.
Surely this is the case ».
- « It
is impossible to continue selling us the idea that someone is going to
win, the final objective of the work has already been achieved, what is
the point of continuing? ».
- It's
like a way to continue humiliating the rest of the sisters, why can't we
just see what they did with their lives after losing the battle? What's
the point of still begging Futaro for his attention at this point? ».
- " The
fact that the sisters follow Yotsuba on her honeymoon seems most
terrifying and meaningless to me ."
- « This
is the fault of the shitty otakus. They don't want loser girls to make
their lives and get their own partners because “it would be NTR”.
"They themselves took it upon themselves to ruin the genre with their
expectations ."
- « I
never thought that an anime with such shitty designs would be so
successful. No, it will be an OVA or a movie, but the narrative quality
will definitely suck .
- « So
does it mean that the girls who lost are unable to move on with their
lives and want to continue begging Futaro? How else do you want to
humiliate them? ».
- « I've
never seen this series before, but do readers understand that loser girls
have every right to pursue other men and not become obsessed with the
protagonist? ».
- « Wasn't
this a manga about knowing which quintuplet won the romantic battle? Now
that we know it's Yotsuba, what's the point of continuing? ».
