The “ One Piece ” team at Toei Animation has started the Spring-2024 season (April-June) with a bang. According to the latest ratings on IMDb, Episode 1100, titled “The Power of Another Dimension! “Luffy vs. Lucci!” is officially the highest-rated episode of the entire series to date.

One Piece Episode 1100 currently has an impressive overall rating of 9.9/10 , just one decimal point higher than One Piece Episode 484, “Navy Headquarters Collapses! The Silent Wrath of Whitebeard”, which premiered in Japan on January 23, 2011.

The episode in question narrates an exciting confrontation between Monkey D. Luffy and Rob Lucci, an elite assassin who works alongside the World Government's intelligence group, Cipher Pol. Sakazuki, who also works at Navy headquarters, learns of Luffy's position in Egghead and his relationship with Dr. Vegapunk, the scientific genius. When Lucci finds out about this, he heads to Egghead to confront Luffy, despite being warned by his CP0 teammates not to do so. This results in a huge confrontation, with both sides transforming into their final states. Lucci proceeds to learn firsthand why Luffy's Gear 5 form is a force to be reckoned with.

Fans of the “One Piece” anime got their first look at Luffy's famous Gear 5 form in “One Piece Film: Red” before witnessing it in all its glory in Episodes 1071-1072 of the series. Luffy's Gear 5 possesses incredible levels of strength and endurance, allowing him to absorb the full force of what would normally be a debilitating attack while emerging relatively unscathed.

Additionally, the Hito Hito Fruit dramatically increases the malleability of Luffy's rubber body, resulting in a series of absurd transformations on the battlefield. “One Piece” creator Eiichiro Oda admitted to taking inspiration from American cartoons like “Tom & Jerry” to give the character a cartoonish appeal. “ I drew this because I wanted to have fun ,” Oda once explained.
