Boku no Hero Academia puts All Might as the villain

On the official site for the anime adaptation of the manga written and illustrated by Kohei Horikoshi , “ Boku no Hero Academia ( My Hero Academia )”, a new promotional video was revealed for the fourth original film in the franchise, titled “ Boku no Hero Academia: The Movie – You Are Next ” and with its premiere scheduled for August 2 in theaters in Japan .


The video features a snippet of the main theme song titled “ Homunculus ” and performed by Vaundy . This new film will feature a completely original (i.e. non-canonical) story written by author Kohei Horikoshi , who is also overseeing the project and character design, while the plot will take place in the same timeline as the anime’s currently airing seventh season.

For his part, Horikoshi began publishing the manga “ Boku no Hero Academia ” in Shueisha ’s Weekly Shonen Jump magazine in July 2014 and entered its final story arc in March 2021. The anime adaptation produced by BONES studios has been ongoing since April 2016, inspiring a total of six seasons to date and a seventh already airing.

A society devastated by battles between heroes and enemies (villains), and infested with Datsugoku, people who have escaped from the enemies’ imprisonment facilities. Just before the final battle between heroes like the protagonist Izuku Midoriya (Deku) and their enemies, a serious incident occurs that shakes the world. What does the title “You Are Next” mean?

With the slogan “Defy the Symbol of Peace,” the image shows the members of UA Academy's Hero Class 1A – Deku, Katsuki Bakugou, Shoto Todoroki, Ochako Uraraka and Tenya Iida – and a man who looks exactly like him. to All Might, standing restlessly beyond their gaze. What will Deku and the others face in this movie? The visual effects are full of dynamism.
