Shueisha has issued a press release to announce that
the manga written and illustrated by Kohei Horikoshi , “ Boku no Hero Academia ( My
Hero Academia )”, will end with its chapter on August 5 in
Japan. Consequently, considering that the work is currently suspended,
there are only five chapters left until the end of the manga.
The author commented on this:
- « I'm
really sorry about the two-week break. I had a lot of things piling up and
the schedule felt like a thousand pages! The story will
conclude in five more chapters. Some will think 'There are still five
chapters left?' while others will think 'There are only five chapters
left?'. There may be divided opinions, but I will do my best to make sure
that both groups enjoy these last five chapters, along with Deku and the
others. Despite all the obstacles, I have been able to draw Deku
and his friends for almost ten years thanks to all of you who have
continued to read. It was a dream time. Thank you so much indeed! See
you again at Shonen Jump! »
For his part, Horikoshi began publishing the manga
“ Boku no Hero Academia ” in Shueisha ’s Weekly
Shonen Jump magazine in July 2014 and entered its final story arc in
March 2021. The anime adaptation produced by BONES studios has
been ongoing since April 2016, inspiring a total of six seasons to date and a
seventh already airing.
Synopsis of My Hero Academia
The emergence of “Quirks”—newly
discovered superpowers—has been steadily increasing over the years, with 80
percent of humanity possessing various abilities, from elemental manipulation
to shapeshifting. This leaves the rest of the world completely powerless, and
Izuku Midoriya is one such individual. Ever since he was a child, the ambitious
high school student has wanted nothing more than to be a hero. Izuku’s unfair
fate leaves him admiring heroes and taking notes on them whenever he can. But
it seems his persistence has paid off—Izuku meets the number one hero and his
personal idol, All Might. All Might’s Quirk is a unique ability that can be
inherited, and he has chosen Izuku as his successor!
After enduring many months of grueling
training, Izuku enrolls at UA Academy, a prestigious prep school renowned for
its excellent hero training program, and this year’s freshmen look especially
promising. With his strange but talented classmates and the looming threat of
an evil organization, Izuku will soon learn what it truly means to be a hero.
