In commemoration of the thirtieth
anniversary of the broadcast of the anime “ Magic
Knight Rayearth ( The Magical Warriors)”, based
on the original manga by CLAMP , a new anime project has
been announced . To mark this event, both a new visual and a promotional
video have been revealed.
“ Magic Knight Rayearth ” was originally
serialized in Kodansha 's Nakayoshi magazine between
1993 and 1995. Its anime adaptation, produced by Tokyo Movie ,
aired in 1994 and quickly gained popularity. The series is known for its
emotional story, endearing characters, and distinctive art design. The
title song, “Yuzurenai Negai” performed by Naomi Tamura, became a hit,
surpassing one million copies sold.
In the new visual revealed, the
protagonists Hikaru Shidou/Lucy , Umi
Ryuuzaki/Marina and Fuu Hououji/Anais can be
seen wielding their respective swords while looking towards the world
of Cefiro , the magical kingdom where they were summoned as
the legendary “Magic Knights”. ”. This visual captures the essence of the
series, highlighting the bravery and determination of the heroines.
The promotional video begins with color
illustrations from the original manga, and then shows images from the anime
broadcast 30 years ago, allowing fans to enjoy the characters' expressions and
iconic moments from the story . This video, along with the new visual,
will also be displayed at the CLAMP exhibition taking place at the National
Museum of Modern Art in Tokyo from July 3 to September 23.
