The film is a reconstructed and enhanced version of
the last two episodes of “The Final Season: Kanketsu-hen,” which aired in March
and November 2023. In this extended format, the film will
offer 145 minutes in length and will be optimized with a 5.1ch surround sound
system, promising to immerse viewers in an epic and immersive final
confrontation. Yuichiro Hayashi, the film’s director, expressed his
satisfaction at having achieved what he considered a personal goal: to bring
this finale to the big screen. Hayashi commented:
- « It
is an honour for me to finally be able to share this announcement. I
always imagined this work as a film, and being able to offer it in the
best possible experience, in the cinema, is a dream come true. We are
working to improve the scenes and optimise the material. Don't miss the
opportunity to 'feel' the Rumble on the big screen! »
The film’s soundtrack will also be a key factor in
this epic farewell. Linked Horizon, the band that has accompanied the
series since its beginning, will once again perform the main theme song with
the theme “Nisen-nen… Moshikuwa… Ni-man-nen-go no Kimi e…”, maintaining the
emotional connection with the events of the series and closing the musical
cycle of “The Final Season”.
Since its debut in 2009, Hajime Isayama’s manga has
been one of the most influential works in the dark fantasy genre, running
serially in Bessatsu Shonen Magazine until its conclusion in 2021. Over its 37
volumes, it has sold over 140 million copies worldwide, cementing its position
as one of the best-selling manga in history. The anime series, which began
airing in 2013, quickly became a global phenomenon, known for its dark
narrative, complex characters, and shocking action scenes.
The journey of Eren, Mikasa, Armin and the rest of the
characters has been one of the most intense and emotional of the last
decade. The story of betrayal, war and survival that began with the
mysterious attack of the Titans has evolved into a much deeper conflict that
questions the role of freedom, revenge and humanity itself. This
finale, depicted in “The Last Attack,” promises to close all those chapters and
leave a lasting mark on the history of anime.
“Shingeki no Kyojin: Kanketsu-hen – The Last Attack”
is not only the culmination of years of character development and epic
conflict, but also a tribute to the tireless work of the creators and the
fervor of a community of fans who have closely followed each step of the
journey. With this cinematic conclusion, fans will be
able to say goodbye to one of the most iconic sagas in anime in the best visual
and audio experience possible.
