On the official website for the anime adaptation of
the manga “ Blue Lock ,” it was
announced that the second season, currently airing, will end on
December 28 with a double episode (Episodes 13 and 14). The statement
did not explain why this decision was being made, but apparently it was already
decided from the moment it was established that the series would have 14
episodes.
The above means that the second season of “Blue Lock”
is forced to end its broadcast in December-2024 , because the
following week would correspond to the Winter-2025 period (January-March) and
must give up its broadcast block to the next premiere.

On the other hand, Muneyuki Kaneshiro and Yuusuke
Nomura have published the manga in Kodansha 's Weekly
Shonen Magazine since August 2018. The first season of twenty-four
episodes premiered during the Fall 2022 season (October-December) ,
followed by the film “ Blue Lock: Episode Nagi “, released in
April of this year.
Synopsis of Blue Lock
The story begins with Japan's elimination from the
2018 FIFA World Cup, prompting the Japan Football Union to initiate a training
program to prepare a team of high school students to participate in the 2022
World Cup. Isagi Yoichi, a forward, receives an invitation to join this program
shortly after his team misses a chance to participate in the Nationals due to
passing the ball to his less skilled teammate, who obviously missed the shot,
highlighting Isagi's cowardice in not daring to finish the play himself.
Their coach will be Ego Jinpachi, who intends to put
an end to the idea of “weak Japan in football” by implementing a radical new
training regime: isolating 300 young forwards in a prison-like institution
called “Blue Lock,” and subjecting them to rigorous training that will create
“the biggest, most talented, most egotistical forward in the world.”
