A press release revealed that Kotobukiya ’s bishojo
action figure line , “ Arcanadea ,” is
getting an anime adaptation in television series format . The release
did not reveal production details or a scheduled premiere date, so we’ll have
to wait for more information at a later date.
Currently the franchise, which features designs
by Necomi ( Moto Saikyou no Kenshi wa, Isekai Mahou ni
Akogareru, Kao sae Yokereba Ii Kyoushitsu ), is celebrating its third
anniversary and has sold more than 300,000 units of figures since its launch in
December 2021. In addition to plastic models, the franchise also has other
types of merchandise such as ASMR series and a four-panel manga (yon-koma).
Description of Arcanadea
The “sci-fi x fantasy” franchise takes place in the
near future, where the world is experiencing rapid technological development
thanks to a new energy called “Arcana Particles” that was discovered by Eden
Industries. The new technology includes the largest virtual space server called
Eden. The VRMMO “ARCANADEA” is a game that people can play within the Eden
server, and it features a fantasy world. After an explosion occurred at Eden
Industries one night during Eden’s maintenance, the world changed, including
abnormal weather, communication issues, strange disappearances, and people
gaining heightened physical abilities.
