For his part, Nanatsu Mukunoki began publishing the manga in the Monthly Comic Yuri Hime magazine of the Ichijinsha publishing house in November 2016. The work inspired a twelve-episode anime adaptation produced by Doga Kobo studios , under the direction of Daisuke Hiramaki and scripts written by Yuka Yamada , released in Winter-2019 (January-March) . It was followed by a film titled " Wataten! An Angel Flew Down to Me: Precious Friends "and released in October-2022 .

Synopsis of Wataten! an Angel Flew Down to Me

College student Miyako Hoshino is rather shy around other people. She mostly spends her time in her room making cosplay costumes. When her fifth grade sister Hinata brings classmate Hana Shirosaki over to their house, Miyako is instantly captivated by her cuteness. Miyako tries to do various things, from making Hana wear cosplay outfits to giving her candy. This gives Hana a bad impression of her at first, but Miyako will do anything to get closer to the angel who has descended upon her.
