An anime is confirmed with 700 episodes

During the “Bushiroad New Year Grand Presentation 2025” event, an important announcement was revealed for “ Cardfight!! Vanguard “ fans : the long-running franchise will reach a total of 700 episodes in its anime. Since the beginning of the first series in 2011 until the most recent installment, “Cardfight!! Vanguard Divinez Deluxe-hen”, 582 episodes have already aired , consolidating itself as one of the longest-running series in the anime industry.

The franchise’s newest anime, “Cardfight!! Vanguard Divinez Deluxe-hen,” began airing in Japan last Saturday, continuing the legacy of this popular saga based on Bushiroad’s card game. This new arc marks the eighth season within the so-called “D Series,” a narrative and product line that has renewed the franchise since April 2021 with the premiere of “Cardfight!! Vanguard overDress.”

The “ Cardfight!! Vanguard ” “D Series ” began with the first two seasons of overDress, followed by “ Cardfight!! Vanguard will+Dress ,” which is considered the third overall season of this stage. Its subsequent installments, released in January 2023 and July 2023, made up the fourth and fifth seasons, respectively. Meanwhile, “ Cardfight!! Vanguard Divinez ,” aired between January and October 2024, represented the sixth and seventh seasons.

Now, with the premiere of Divinez Deluxe-hen , the franchise is gearing up for its ninth season, scheduled to debut in mid-2025. Though Bushiroad had originally announced that the “D Series” would conclude in December 2025 with a total of nine seasons, it was also confirmed during the event that a tenth season and beyond are already in the works, ensuring that the franchise will continue beyond its initial plans.

The announcement was made in the presence of the anime’s main voice actors, including Toshiya Miyata (Akina Myoudou), Takumi Mano (Taizou Kiyokura), and Hikaru Tono (Tomari Seto), who also shared details about upcoming events and related merchandise. Among the new features were the opening of a themed pop-up shop, the launch of a new booster pack designed by CLAMP, and various promotional activities aimed at strengthening the franchise’s presence in the market.

With a history of more than a decade, “Cardfight!! Vanguard” remains a key player in the anime and card game industry. With 700 confirmed episodes and new projects on the horizon, the franchise demonstrates its ability to evolve and maintain its relevance among fans.
