Following
the publication of the most recent chapter of “ Dandadan ,” author Yukinobu
Tatsu listed that the popular manga series will be on hiatus until February 24. This
marks a serialization pause of over a month, something relatively common within
this franchise, as it went through a similar suspension in late 2024.
Considering that this is a weekly manga and considering the quality of the art it features, it is no surprise that author Yukinobu Tatsu has to take a break for a period of time. Fortunately, “Dandadan” is a manga that is published directly and solely through digital outlets such as the Shonen Jump Plus platform in Japan, so it is practically impossible for leakers to get their hands on any advance content from upcoming chapters.
For his
part, Yukinobu Tatsu , who was one of the assistants of the
author Tatsuki Fujimoto , began publishing the manga through
the Shonen Jump Plus digital service of the publisher Shueisha in April 2021, where it is
still in serialization. The first season premiered in Fall 2024
(October-December) and had a total of twelve episodes, produced
by Science SARU , with a second scheduled for Summer
2025 (July-September) .
Synopsis
of Dandadan
After
being aggressively rejected, Momo Ayase finds herself angry when she stumbles
upon a boy who is being bullied. Saved by her reckless kindness, the
occult-obsessed boy attempts to talk to her about supernatural interests he
believes they share. Rejecting his claims, Ayase proclaims that she is instead
a believer in ghosts, starting an argument between the two over which is real.
In a bet to determine who is right, the two decide to separately visit places
related to the occult and the supernatural: Ayase visits the former and the boy
the latter.
When the
two arrive at their respective locations, it turns out that neither of them
were wrong and that both the occult and ghosts do exist. This marks the
beginning of the adventure of Ayase and the boy, who shares a name with Ayase's
favorite idol, Ken Takakura, as they try to fix the surreal supernatural and
sci-fi elements around them in order to return to a normal life.
