A press
release reported that the manga written and illustrated by Sakae Saito ,
“ Touring After the Apocalypse ( Shuumatsu Touring ),”
will have an anime adaptation that will premiere sometime this year. The
release did not reveal production details, but did indicate that Nexus Studios will
be in charge of animation and that the main cast is made up of:
- Konomi
Inagaki as Youko.
- Miyu
Tomita as Airi.
The author commented on this:
- The
Touring After the Apocalypse anime! It's such an honor. It's all thanks to
the constant support of all of you. Really, thank you so much. I never
imagined that this manga, which I freely drew without thinking about an
anime adaptation, would ever become an anime. I'm excited to see how it
will be brought to the screen while I'm involved in the supervision. I'm
always amazed by the incredible professional work of the director and
production team. As the original author, but also as a fan of anime, motorcycles,
and the post-apocalyptic genre, I'm very excited for the Touring After the
Apocalypse anime!
For his part, Sakae Saito began publishing
the manga through Kadokawa 's Dengeki
Maoh magazine in September 2020. He previously wrote other works such
as “ Toji no Miko ”, “ Heavy Object S ”,
“ Super Cub Rei ”, and a variety of hentai works under the
name “ PURUpyon Saitou ”.
Synopsis of Touring After the Apocalypse
All alone after the end of days, two girls wander the
desolate ruins of Japan – but they’re not going to let the collapse of
civilization stop them from sightseeing! From the hot springs of Hakone to the
massive Tokyo Big Sight, they have the country’s most popular tourist spots all
to themselves, so why not make the most of it?
