A press release from Kadokawa listed that Nanateru 's manga , " Alma-chan Wants to Have a Family! ( Alma-chan wa Kazoku ni Naritai )", is getting an anime adaptation. The release included production and voice cast details, and indicated that the premiere is slated for sometime this year in Japan.

Also included were a variety of comments from the announced cast members:

  • Hika Tsukishiro (voice of Alma) Comment:  I have had the honor of voicing Alma! I am Hika Tsukishiro! From the moment I received the audition materials, I was completely captivated by this warm world and adorable characters, so I am immensely happy to be bringing Alma to life this time… I will do my best to convey the wonderful world of Alma-chan that captivated me so much through the anime! Please look forward to the anime broadcast!

  • Comment by Ryouta Suzuki (voice of Enji Kamisato): I'll be voicing Enji Kamisato, a character who tries to appear cool and hates losing, but who also has no immunity to the opposite sex. I'm so happy to be involved in such a fun show with such endearing characters. This story shows how Alma, a weapon in the form of a girl, and two genius scientists slowly begin to form a family as they share their daily lives, with moments that will make you laugh and others that will warm your heart. I hope you enjoy it!

  • Mao Ichimichi's (voice of Suzume Yobane) comment: I'm MAO, and I'll have the pleasure of voicing Suzume Yobane. Suzume is a genius scientist with an air of cold beauty, but at the same time she's smitten with Alma-chan, and I found that difference in attitude really endearing. Of course Alma-chan is adorable, but I also hope you'll enjoy the awkward dynamic that arises because neither Enji nor Suzume know how to handle each other because they're of the opposite sex, and that you can lovingly accompany these three's daily lives as a special "family." Thank you so much for the support!

For its part, Nanateru began publishing the manga through Kadokawa 's Comic Newtype magazine in July 2021, and a new manga titled " Alma-chan wa Kazoku ni Naritai Z " has been in publication since July 2024 in the same magazine.

Synopsis of Alma-chan Wants to Have a Family!

Alma, an autonomous robot with self-learning capabilities and advanced combat skills, was created by two genius scientists: Enji Kamisato and Suzume Yobane, who developed Alma's artificial intelligence and robotics, respectively. After being ridiculed by former acquaintances, the duo decided to join forces to show the world what they are truly capable of. However, although they collaborate closely in their work, they struggle with each other in their personal lives.

Despite their constant bickering, Enji and Suzume begin to develop a spark of affection for each other—feelings that aren't lost on their adorable robotic creation. Intrigued, Alma begins to question the true nature of her creators' relationship. As she learns more about humanity through those around her, Alma's bond with Enji and Suzume grows ever stronger.
