Mr. Osomatsu anime returns this summer

A promotional video for the fourth season of Mr. Osomatsu has been revealed on the official website for Pierrot Studios' original anime series . The video confirms that the premiere is scheduled for Summer 2025 (July–September) , and lists the tagline: " Our best summer ever is finally here... just kidding ."

"Mr. Osomatsu" (Osomatsu-san) is a modern, absurdist adaptation of Fujio Akatsuka's original manga "Osomatsu-kun ," a high-octane comedy that follows the antics of the Matsuno family's six troubled children. In this reimagining, the characters are no longer 10-year-olds, but rather unemployed, aimless, though just as chaotic, adults. They all happen to be in love with the same girl: Totoko.

Since its first broadcast in 2015, the franchise has gained a solid fanbase with three seasons aired (2015, 2017, and 2020), as well as multiple animated shorts and even a live-action film. The first animated film in the franchise, "Eiga no Osomatsu-san," was released in 2019, and two new films were subsequently announced for limited theatrical releases: the aforementioned "Hipipo-Zoku to Kagayaku Kajitsu" in 2022 and "Tamashii no Takoyaki Party to Densetsu no Otomari-kai" in 2023.

Mr. Osomatsu Synopsis

The majority of the Matsuno household is made up of six identical brothers: the self-centered leader Osomatsu, the manly Karamatsu, the level-headed Choromatsu, the cynical Ichimatsu, the hyperactive Juushimatsu, and the lovable Todomatsu. Despite all being in their 20s, they are incredibly lazy and completely unmotivated to get a job, choosing to live as NEETs. On the rare occasions they do try to apply for a job and manage to get an interview, their unique personalities often quickly lead to rejection.

From trying to find a girlfriend to hunting down the perfect job, the Matsuno brothers' daily activities are never dull, as they embark on all sorts of crazy and often completely absurd adventures. Though they desperately seek a way to improve their social standing, that won't be possible if they fail to survive the challenges of being sextuplets!
