As we
reported in our previous news, the anime adaptation of Nikumaru's manga
"Bad Girl" had already revealed its first promotional visual,
announced its Summer 2025 premiere, and confirmed a special YouTube event. Well, today we have even more
news!
The
project's official website has released a new promotional lyric video, which
focuses on Yuu Yutani (voiced by Azusa Tachibana) and features the song
"Tsuppari High School Rock'n Roll (Toukou-hen)." This musical piece marks the
debut of a new musical unit called "Tenrougun," made up of Azusa
Tachibana, Niina Hanamiya, Misato Matsuoka, and Miharu Hanai, who will release
this song as their first digital single.
Separately,
the anime was also confirmed to premiere in July on Tokyo MX and BS11. The main cast includes: Azusa
Tachibana as Yuu Yutani; Niina Hanamiya as Atori
Mizutori; Misato Matsuoka as Suzu Suzukaze; Miharu
Hanai as Rura Ruriha; Kaori Maeda as Mizuka Mizutori;
and Lynn as Kiyoraka Sumiki.
As for the
production team, Takeshi Furuta (Shaman King 2021) is in
charge of direction at Bridge studio , while Shoji
Yonemura (Pokémon, Fairy Tail) oversees series composition. Yuuki
Morimoto (Miss Monochrome) is in charge of character design, and Arisa
Okehazama (Jujutsu Kaisen, The Apothecary Diaries) composes the music.
With
each new update, "Bad Girl" promises to be one of the most
entertaining premieres of the upcoming season. What other surprises are they
planning for us?
- Nikumaru began publishing his
manga "Bad Girl" in December 2020, in Houbunsha's Manga Time
Kirara Carat magazine. Prior to this project, the author had already worked on
titles such as "Watashi no Onaka no Sekinin Totte!" and
"Aitsu no Kanojo," although this is his first work to receive an
anime adaptation.
- The main cast of the anime
features Azusa Tachibana as Yuu Yutani, Niina
Hanamiya as Atori Mizutori, Misato Matsuoka as
Suzu Suzukaze, and Miharu Hanai as Rura Ruriha.
- In terms of production, the
project brings together Takeshi Furuta (Nanatsu no
Taizai: Imashime no Fukkatsu, Visual Prison) as director under the Bridge studio
, while Shouji Yonemura (One Piece, Shaman King 2021) is
in charge of writing and supervising the scripts. The character design and
animation direction fall to Yuuki Morimoto (Kishuku
Gakkou no Juliet), and the music is in the hands of Alisa
Okehazama (Jujutsu Kaisen, Kusuriya no Hitorigoto).
- The story follows Yuu, a
first-year student who idolizes the prefect Atori. Hoping to get closer to
her, Yuu tries to act like a "delinquent," but her clumsy act is
quickly discovered. Atori, far from pushing her away, begins
treating her like a pet, kicking off a hilarious four-panel school comedy
where the protagonist turns out to be not as "bad" as she
pretends.
