The popular
comedy manga Genkai OL Kirigiri Giriko (Office Lady Giriko Kirigiri to the
Extreme), created by Miitosupa Tsuchimoto, has announced a short anime
adaptation.
This
"light anime" will stream exclusively through the series' official X
and TikTok accounts, with new episodes every Monday, Wednesday, Thursday, and
Friday at 7:00 PM (UTC+2), beginning Tuesday, May 28.
A
Comedic Look at Extreme Culinary Survival
The story
follows the misadventures of Giriko Kirigiri, an office worker who resorts to
"extreme" foods to survive, such as untoasted bread seasoned only
with salt and MSG. This premise gives rise to absurd and comical situations
that have captivated readers in Shonen Jump+, where the manga has been
published every Tuesday since December 2024.
The
animated version will consist of 32 episodes of just 30 seconds each.
Additionally, a compilation episode will be released every Tuesday for those
who prefer to enjoy the content in bulk.
Voice
Cast and Production
Actress
Kaori Shimizu will play the protagonist, Giriko Kirigiri. Rounding out the cast
are Ryōka Yuzuki as Aya Ichikawa and Wakana Kowaka as Yuri Himekusa.
The
animation is being done by Dai Nippon Printing, a company unusual in this type
of production, which adds a unique element to the project.
An ideal
proposal for social media viewing
With its
short runtime, absurd humor, and vertical format, Genkai OL Kirigiri Giriko is
aimed squarely at the social media audience. Its relaxed tone and focus on
everyday life with a surreal twist make it a perfect choice for those looking
for quick, different entertainment.
Will Giriko
survive another week of her unusual meals? We'll find out in each new episode.
