The romantic comedy A Couple of Cuckoos will return with its second season on July 8 in Japan, and to celebrate, a new promotional illustration was released that has generated great expectation among fans.

In the image, the protagonists Erika Amano and Ai Mochizuki can be seen in poses that highlight their contrasting personalities. Ai appears provocatively, wearing only a T-shirt with the face of protagonist Nagi Umino, while Erika shows a cheerful smile and makes the classic "peace" sign in her school uniform.

All set for the second season

The series, based on the manga by Miki Yoshikawa published by Kodansha in Weekly Shonen Magazine, continues to attract a large fan base. In the West, Kodansha USA publishes the English version.

The animation of this new season is in charge of the Okuruto Noboru studio, with Masakazu Hishida directing, Kyoko Kon character design and Rei Ishizuka as music composer.

Crunchyroll will stream this second season as part of its simulcast schedule for summer 2025, thus maintaining the global availability of the title.

What is A Couple of Cuckoos about?

The story follows Nagi Umino, a model student who, on his way to meet his biological parents, bumps into the outgoing Erika Amano, who asks him to pretend to be her boyfriend to avoid an arranged marriage.
