The Mobile
Suit Gundam franchise continues to reap success with its latest installment.
The official website for the Mobile Suit Gundam GQuuuuuuX anime confirmed that
the re-edited version of the special episode titled GQuuuuuuX -Beginning- will
return to Japanese theaters on June 20, 2025.
This
re-release will be screened in 368 theaters across the country, consolidating
the impact it has had since its original theatrical release.

Office Phenomenon in Japan
Prior to
its television broadcast on April 8, 2025, GQuuuuuuX -Beginning- had an early
release on January 17, 2025, in 426 theaters, including 52 IMAX theaters,
achieving a stunning debut with 598 million yen (approximately $4.16 million)
grossed in its first three days, with more than 352,000 tickets sold.
The film
remained in the top 10 at the Japanese box office for seven consecutive
weekends, accumulating 3.296 billion yen (approximately $22.89 million) and 2
million viewers in just 66 days.
This
performance makes it the third highest-grossing Japanese anime film of the
year, behind only Detective Conan: One-eyed Flashback and Doraemon: Nobita's
Art World Tales.

with Exclusive Fan Content
As an added
incentive, attendees who see the film in theaters starting June 20 will receive
an exclusive 24-page booklet titled Mobile Suit Gundam GQuuuuuuX -Beginning-
DESIGN WORKS 3. This booklet will include previously unreleased material and
feature new illustrations by character designer Take, who has been instrumental
in the film's distinctive visual style.
This
re-release undoubtedly reaffirms Gundam's power as one of the most influential
franchises in Japanese anime, capable of attracting both veteran fans and new
generations.
