The
animated film Fushigi no Kuni de Alice to -Dive in Wonderland-, which is being
promoted as the first Japanese anime adaptation of the children's classic Alice
in Wonderland, has released a new trailer that reveals more details about its
story and production team. The trailer also includes a snippet of the main
theme song, "Zukan," performed by the popular band SEKAI NO OWARI.
The film is
scheduled for release in Japanese theaters on August 29 and will center on
Rise, a modern-day girl who accidentally ends up in the mysterious Wonderland,
where she meets an enigmatic version of Alice.

The film is
directed by Toshiya Shinohara (Black Butler, Nagi no Asukara) and animated by
the prestigious P.A. Works studio. The script is by Yūko Kakihara (Urusei
Yatsura 2022, Blue Box), while the original character designs are by Tomomi
Takada, Jun Suzuki, and Hiranko Konohana.
