An
immortal legacy in anime history
A Time
Slip of 10,000 Years: Prime Rose first aired on August 21, 1983 in Japan as part
of the charity show 24-Hour Television: Love Saves the Earth. It is
based on Tezuka's Prime Rose manga, which ran from 1982 to
1983 in Akita Publishing's Weekly Shōnen Champion magazine.
Considered
the God of Manga, Osamu Tezuka revolutionized the
industry with works such as Astro Boy, Black Jack, Dororo and Phoenix.
He founded the legendary studio Mushi Production, where he pushed
many of his works into the animated format, including Astro Boy,
which would become the first half-hour animated series in Japanese history,
shaping modern anime as we know it today.
