The official website of the anime See You Tomorrow at the Food Court (Food Court by, Mata Ashita.), based on the manga by Shinichirō Nariie, revealed that the series will premiere next Sunday, July 7 at 3:30 p.m. (UTC+2) through Tokyo MX and other networks. The anime will consist of six episodes in total and can be streamed on the ABEMA platform simultaneously.

To celebrate the announcement, a new visual image of the series was also shared, in addition to an early screening of the first episode on the same day at the main store of Animate Ikebukuro in Tokyo.

A friendship that flourishes between ramen and coffee shops

The story follows Wada, a model and reserved student, and Yamamoto, a rebellious fashionista with a modified uniform and dyed hair. Although they seem completely different, every afternoon they meet at the food court to talk, disconnect from the world and show themselves as they are. Between small talk and unexpected sincerity, these two girls build a relationship that is as unique as it is endearing.

The anime is directed by Kazuomi Koga (Rent-A-GirlfriendKubo Won't Let Me Be Invisible) under the Atelier Pontdarc studio. The scripts are supervised by Jukki Hanada (Sound! EuphoniumLove Live!), while Kyuta Sakai is in charge of character design and animation direction.

The soundtrack will be composed by Kana Utatane and the sound direction will be in charge of Jin Aketagawa, known for his work on Kaguya-sama: Love is War and Re:ZERO.

The opening theme is called "Mikansei ni Matataite" (Blinking Incompletely) and will be performed by the group Oisicle Melonpan.

A manga with a slow but constant story

The original manga debuted in March 2020 on the Comic Newtype site. After a hiatus in January 2021, it resumed publication in September 2022. To date, Kadokawa has released 23 chapters and two compilation volumes, the latest of which is titled Food Court, Mata Ashita. Season 2, released on March 31. The publisher Yen Press publishes the work in English, bringing this warm and light story closer to international audiences.

With only six episodes confirmed, See You Tomorrow at the Food Court promises to be a short but emotional series, ideal for those who enjoy the small moments of life and the friendships that are born in the most everyday places.
