The
connection between Creepy Nuts and the Call of the
Night anime has become inseparable, and to celebrate the start of
the second season, the hip hop duo has released a new collaborative
music video clip. The video features its opening theme "Mirage" accompanied
by previously unreleased scenes from the series' new arc, as well as the song's
lyrics.
A
musical preview before the official release of the single
The first
music video for "Mirage" was released on July 15,
while the physical release of the single is scheduled for September 10.
This will also include the closing track "Nemure" and
instrumental versions of both tracks.
In
addition, the single will be accompanied by an exclusive illustration by Kotoyama,
author of the original manga, which shows Nazuna and Ko flying
through the night sky over the city.
Everything
is ready for a season that promises emotions
The second
season of Call of the Night continues under the direction
of Tomoyuki Itamura at the LIDEN FILMS studio.
The creative team remains with Michiko Yokote in the
scripts, Haruka Sagawa in the character design and Yoshiaki
Dewa in the musical composition. Izumi Takizawa and Nao
Miyoshi also join as co-directors.
The
original manga, written by Kotoyama (also author of Dagashi Kashi),
ran in Shonen Sunday magazine from August 2019 to January
2024. Currently, the series continues through a new set of short stories under
the subtitle "Paradise Arc."
A
nocturnal story between mystery and romance
According
to the official synopsis published by VIZ Media, the story
follows Ko, a young insomniac who begins to explore the city at
night. On one of his escapades he meets Nazuna, a mysterious girl
who invites him to spend the night in an abandoned building. But what seemed
like a teenage prank soon transforms into something darker and more seductive,
when he discovers that Nazuna is a vampire. The attraction between the two will
be complicated when an old friend of Ko's reappears, challenging his link with
the nocturnal world.
