A story of youth marked by disenchantment and music

Toei Animation describes this story as the journey of five girls who, between betrayals, abandonment and loneliness, seek to make their way in the city through music:

The protagonist drops out of high school in her sophomore year and struggles to get into college while working alone in Tokyo. Another girl is betrayed by her friends and doesn't know what to do. One more has been abandoned by her parents and survives on part-time jobs. The world always disappoints us. Nothing goes as we expect. But still, we want to find something that we can continue to love. We believe that there is a place where we belong. That's why we sing.

From television to cinema and temporary reorganization in the cast

The series Girls Band Cry originally aired between April and June 2024, with a total of 13 episodes. Its English version was released digitally in North America on August 13, and Crunchyroll began streaming it on November 6.

In July last year, it was announced that actresses Mirei and Natsu would go on a temporary hiatus for health reasons. For their part, RINA, Yuri and Syuri will continue with their promotional activities and presentations as part of the project.
