The
Japanese rock band Aooo has released through its official
YouTube channel the video clip of "Mahou wa Spice" ("Magic
is spice"), a song that was used as the ending theme of the first
cour of the anime series WITCH WATCH. The video compiles
memorable scenes from the story, offering a nostalgic experience for fans.
A young
band with growing strength
Aooo was
formed in August 2023 and consists of Riko Ishino (vocals), Three (guitar), Hikaru
Yamamoto (bass), and Tumiki (drums). Her official
debut came in October 2024 under Sony Music's Echoes label.
"Mahou
wa Spice" marked their first collaboration with an anime and was included
on their first EP "Fooocus", released on April
16, 2025. As the band shared on their official website, the song reflects
the message of support and warmth present in Kenta Shinohara's work, with the
intention of brightening up the daily lives of those who listen to it.
WITCH
WATCH: Magic and Romantic Comedy
The anime
WITCH WATCH, an adaptation of the manga created by Kenta
Shinohara (SKET Dance, ASTRA LOST IN SPACE), premiered
in Japan on April 6, 2025. In Spain (UTC+2), the premiere
corresponded to April 6, 2025 at 5:00 p.m. It is currently
available on Crunchyroll for various regions, including Europe
and Latin America.
The story
follows Morihito Otogi, a high school student with the strength of
an ogre whose life changes when Nico Wakatsuki, his childhood
friend and witch apprentice, moves in with him. Nico makes him his relative,
thus initiating a coexistence marked by prophecies, magic and comic situations.

After the
success of "Mahou wa Spice", the second part of the
anime will have a new ending that will surely be very popular performed by the
band yutori, thus expanding the musical proposal of the series.
