Kodansha's Dessert magazine
announced that the Hitting Rewind With You manga, written and
illustrated by Hanamaru Kira, will come to an end on September
24, 2025 in its next issue. The news marks the closure of a romantic
story that conquered many readers in Japan since its debut.
History
of Second Chances
The plot
follows Wakaba Kayano, a 20-year-old college student who in her
school days focused solely on studies, leaving aside the typical experiences of
adolescence, such as going out on dates after class. In a fit of nostalgia and
desire to recover those lost moments, he decides to dress up in his old school
uniform during Halloween.
It is then
that she meets Fumito, a boy dressed in the classic high school
uniform, with whom she ends up living the dream date she always longed for.
However, when Wakaba confesses his true age, he discovers to his surprise that
Fumito is also a university student.

The manga
began publication in October 2023 in Dessert magazine.
Their fourth compilation volume was released on July 11, 2025. In
addition, Kodansha USA confirmed that it will publish the work
in English in spring 2026, allowing a wider audience to enjoy this
story of youthful romance.
