The Betrothed
to My Sister's Ex anime surprised fans with a dramatic twist in
its most recent episode, where the truth about Anastasia Shaderan's mysterious
death was revealed. To accompany this change in the plot, the official accounts
of the series published a new visual key loaded with
symbolism.
The third
promotional image shows Marie and Kyuros in
the midst of tension, along with a depiction of the carriage accident that
marked the beginning of the story and Anastasia's dress, evoking the presence
of her spirit.
The team
behind the production
Takayuki
Kitagawa is
directed at LandQ Studios, with Masakazu Sunagawa as
assistant director. Kenta Ihara is in charge of the
composition of the series, while Akiko Sato designs the
characters. The music is in charge of Kujira Yumemi. The project
adapts the light novels by Tobirano and Mai Murasaki,
while publisher Pocket Comics publishes the English version of
the manga illustrated by Chikage Nakagura.
A
history marked by tragedy
The series
airs on Crunchyroll and follows the life of Marie,
the youngest daughter of an impoverished baron who always lives in the shadow
of her older sister, Anastasia. Count Kyuros Granado is
smitten with Marie at first sight, but a misunderstanding leads him to become
engaged to Anastasia. After a tragic accident that changes their destinies,
Marie ends up being the count's fiancée, thus initiating a romance full of
tensions, secrets and presences that seem not to have disappeared.
