Kimi no Nemureru Kaii no Kōsha manga nears its end

Square Enix's Gangan Online platform announced through its official account on X (formerly Twitter) that the manga Kimi no Nemureru Kaii no Kōsha, illustrated by Fumi Itō and based on the light novel Nanoka no Yoru o Nukedashite by Takuma Sakurai, will come to an end very soon.


Trajectory of the work


The manga began its digital publication in October 2023 on the Gangan Online platform. Its first compilation volume was released on June 12, 2024, while the second will be released on September 11, 2024. For its part, the original light novel was published by Kodansha in November 2022.


About the author and his career


Takuma Sakurai is also known for the series Butareba: The Story of a Man Turned into a Pig (Buta no Liver wa Kanetsu Shiro), published by Kadokawa's Dengeki Bunko imprint since March 2020. This work gained recognition after winning the gold award in the 26th edition of the Dengeki Novel Prize in 2019. The series features illustrations by Asagi Tōsaka and its manga adaptation, by Minami, has been published since August 2020 in Dengeki Maoh magazine.


From the novel to the anime


Butareba took a step further in his popularity by receiving an anime adaptation, released in October 2023. The production had a total of 12 episodes, although its outcome was delayed, finally airing in February 2024. Currently, both the novel and the manga are available in English thanks to J-Novel Club.
