Gachiakuta reveals three new voice actors for its anime

The Gachiakuta TV anime, based on the manga by Kei Urana, recently announced three new members in its main cast. Through its official account on X/Twitter, the production revealed the performers who will give life to key characters in the story:

These names join an already stellar cast that includes Aoi Ichikawa as Rudo, Katsuyuki Konishi as Enjin, Yoshitsugu Matsuoka as Zanka, and Yumiri Hanamori as Riyo.


A dark story in a world of waste


The plot of Gachiakuta revolves around Rudo, a young man who grows up in the slums of a floating city. There, the rich live surrounded by luxury while throwing their garbage into the abyss.


After being wrongfully accused of murder, Rudo is sentenced to exile along with the refuse of humanity. On the surface, infested with monsters born from garbage, he must learn to master a new power and join the Cleaners, a group that fights against these colossal beasts to survive and discover the truth.

The anime is directed by Fumihiko Suganuma (The First Slam DunkTrain to the End of the World), while Hiroshi Seko (Chainsaw ManVinland SagaMob Psycho 100) is in charge of the script. Satoshi Ishino (Date A LiveCaptain Earth) designs the characters and supervises the animation, and the music is composed by Taku Iwasaki (Bungo Stray DogsShin Kamen Rider).


International premiere and manga on the rise


Gachiakuta premiered in Japan on July 6, 2024, via CBC, TBS, and 26 other networks. That same day, Crunchyroll began streaming the series in territories such as North America, Latin America, Europe, Africa, Oceania, the Middle East, the CIS region (except Russia and Belarus) and the Indian subcontinent. In addition, the platform offers an English dubbing along with the original subtitled version.
