Netflix
announced that the fourth part of Pokémon Horizons:
The Series—The Search for Laqua, the second season of the Pokémon
anime: Horizons, will begin streaming on September 26, 2025.
The season kicked off on Netflix on February 7, followed by the second part on
April 25 and the third on June 27.
History
and new arcs in Japan
In Japan,
the anime debuted in April 2023 with a special one-hour episode, airing on
Fridays at 6:55 p.m. JST. The series began its second arc, "Terapagos
no Kagayaki" (The Brightness of Terapagos), with episode 29 in
October 2023, followed by the "Terastal Debut" arc
in April 2024. The fourth arc began in Japan in October 2024,
incorporating characters from Kitakami, a prominent location in
The Teal Mask expansion of the Pokémon Scarlet and Pokémon
Violet games.
Protagonists
and new characters
The story
follows new protagonists Liko and Roy, accompanied by Sprigatito,
Fuecoco, and Quaxly from the Pokémon Scarlet and Violet video games,
as well as the legendary Shiny Rayquaza. In addition, Friede and Captain
Pikachu are introduced, a duo of Pokémon professor and his partner who
fight alongside Liko and Roy.
Creative
team behind the anime
The anime
is directed by Saori Den (Mirage Queen Prefers Circus),
with Daiki Tomiyasu (Pokémon Sun & Moon) serving as
creative director. The scripts are supervised by Dai Satō (Eureka
Seven, Wolf's Rain, Samurai Champloo). Tetsuo Yajima directs
the action scenes, Rei Yamazaki designs the characters,
and Kyōko Itō collaborates as a sub-designer. The sound
direction is by Masafumi Mima and the music is composed
by Conisch.
