Roll Over and Die reveals new trailer and cast for its adaptation

The anime adaptation of the light novel series Roll Over and Die: I Will Fight for an Ordinary Life with My Love and Cursed Sword!, written by kiki and illustrated by Kinta, has revealed its second promotional teaser along with a new batch of voices and details about its production. The series is scheduled to premiere sometime in 2026.



A protagonist marked by tragedy


The story follows Flum Apricot, a young woman destined to fail from the beginning: with no useful skills and zero statistics, she ends up being betrayed and sold into slavery by her own teammates. However, as she wields a cursed sword in a desperate attempt to survive, something dark awakens in her. Thus begins a bloody quest to regain his freedom and dignity.


Voices that will bring a dark world to life


The new confirmed cast includes:


  • Ayaka Nanase as Flum Apricot, the protagonist caught between fate and darkness.
  • Miku Itō as Milkit, an enslaved young woman who crosses Flum's path.
  • Miki Kariya as Cyrill Sweechka, a hero with outstanding stats.
  • Makoto Yasumura as Jean Inteige, the sage of the original group and responsible for Flum's downfall.
  • Misaki Kuno as Eternal Rinebow, a medicinally knowledgeable water magic user.
  • Takaya Kuroda as Gadhio Lathcutt, an S-rank adventurer who masters earth magic.
  • Aya Endō as Maria Afenjuns, a nun from the Church of Origin who uses light magic.
  • Jin Ogasawara as Linus Radiants, an S-rank adventurer who wields wind magic.

A production with important names


The series will be directed by Nobuharu Kamanaka (Detective Conan) at the ACGT studio. The script is in the hands of Mariko Kunisawa (Ascendance of a Bookworm), while the character design will be in charge of a team composed of Miki Matsumoto (Summer Time Rendering), Fumio Matsumoto (Orient), Takashi Fukuyo and Takafumi Furusawa (Berserk of Gluttony). The music will be provided by Ryō Takahashi (Arifureta).


From light novel to multimedia franchise


The original work was first published in 2018 under the Micro Magazine imprint, and currently has more than 415,000 copies in circulation adding both novels and its manga adaptation, both also available in English. The fifth novel introduced kodamazon as the new official illustrator. In addition, the story has been adapted into an audiobook, with narration by Emily Bauer.


Roll Over and Die promises to be one of the most raw and shocking proposals of recent anime, ideal for those looking for dark stories with strong female protagonists and survival plots. 2026 will be the year that Flum Apricot gets up... or die trying.
