During Anime
NYC, Viz Media announced five new voice cast members
for the anime based on Shu Sakuratani's Rooster Fighter
(Niwatori Fighter) manga. The new players are:

Kaida as Kugone
- Jun
Kasama as Yuji
- Natsumi
Fujiwara as Hikari
- Hikaru
Tōno as Sara
- Akio
Ōtsuka as Keizan
The event
was attended by author Sakuratani, anime writer Hiroshi
Seko and the world premiere of the first episode of
the series.
About
the story
Keiji is not an ordinary rooster: he
is humanity's greatest defender. Although his enemies may be
ten-story tall giants, his bravery and powerful battle cry, Kokekokko!,
make him a fearsome hero.

The anime
is directed by Daisuke Suzuki (D4DJ All Mix) in SANZIGEN,
with a script by Hiroshi Seko (Jujutsu Kaisen, Mob Psycho
100). The production is being handled by Joseph Chou (Knights
of the Zodiac: Saint Seiya) and Sola Entertainment.
Release
and distribution
The anime
will debut on television in spring 2026. Viz Media will
be responsible for international streaming, television, digital sales, home
video and merchandising distribution outside of Japan, while Hero's
Inc. will manage EST, home video and merchandising in Japan. Adult
Swim will air the series in the United States, with more streaming
platforms to be announced soon.
The
original manga
Sakuratani launched the manga in December
2020 on the Comiplex platform. Publisher Hero's published
the 10th compilation volume on July 4, and Viz Media released
the eighth volume in English on August 19.
