In the
September issue of Akita Publishing's Monthly Princess magazine,
it was announced that Rinko Ueda, renowned creator of Tail
of the Moon, will publish a new manga titled Sakura to Ageha. The
first chapter will debut in the October issue of the magazine, available in
Japan on September 5, 2025.
A plot
with romance and time travel
The story
follows Sakura, a high school student who, after drowning in the
ocean, wakes up in the middle of the Heian era. There he
meets Taira no Koremori, a historical figure belonging to the Heike
clan, triggering an encounter that will change his destiny.
Rinko
Ueda's journey
Ueda has an
outstanding career in romantic manga. In May 2015 he released Himitsu
no Juliet in Shueisha's Monthly You magazine, which
he completed in February 2016 with two volumes. Previously, between April 2014
and February 2015, he published Maria no Shiro (Mary's
Castle).
Other
best-known works
Among her
most popular titles are Tail of the Moon and Stepping
on Roses, both published in North America by Viz Media,
cementing Ueda as an author recognized for her romantic style and historical
settings.
