Animation studio IMAGICA Infos announced that it is working on a "light anime" adaptation of the Potion, Waga Mi or Tasukeru (also known as Potions Will Save Me) novel series, written by Akira Iwafune. The premiere is scheduled for October 2025 on Japanese television.

The "light anime" format is characterized by using a simpler animation style, with the aim of reducing production time and costs. This format has already been used by the same studio in titles such as Lockdown Zone: Level XMoriarty's Perfect Crime and With Vengeance, Sincerely, Your Broken Saintess.

World of Potions, Elves and Dragons

The story follows Kaede, a high school girl who is suddenly transported to a fantasy world inhabited by elves, beastmen, and dragons. After wandering around for a whole day, he finds in his backpack a mysterious book that allows him to create potions just by gathering the necessary ingredients and saying the magic word: "Create". With this ability, Kaede will try to survive in this unknown world and find a way to return to Japan.

Experienced creative team

The anime will be directed by Mikiko Furukawa (Moriarty's Perfect Crime) and will be supported by Imageworks Studio and Studio KAIBA in the animation. Yūichi Imaizumi will be in charge of the sound direction, while the music will be composed by bermei.inazawa. Production supervision will be in charge of Kazuya Takahashi.

From web novel to manga and anime

The original story was published on the Shōsetsuka ni Narō site between April 2014 and September 2024. Its first print edition arrived in April 2015 under the Shufunotomo imprint, with illustrations by Yoshi Tobe. He currently has ten published volumes.

In addition, in September 2023, a manga adaptation was released through the Hero Comics site, also by Shufunotomo, which currently totals 15 chapters.
