The 12th volume of the manga Anyway, I'm Falling in Love with You (Dōse, Koishite Shimaunda) by author Haruka Mitsui revealed on August 12 that the work has begun its "countdown" to the climax. In addition, it was announced that the series already has more than 1.7 million copies in circulation, consolidating itself as one of the most outstanding teen romances of the last decade.

A love story in times of uncertainty

The plot centers on Mizuha, a girl who celebrates her disastrous seventeenth birthday in the middle of a pandemic. His father forgets him, the boy he likes shows no interest and his social life is interrupted by a mysterious virus. However, everything changes when her childhood friend confesses his feelings to her, forcing her to rethink what love really means in such a complicated stage. The play explores how young people deal with romance and friendship in times of crisis, keeping hope alive despite uncertainty.

Career and publication

The manga began serialization in Kodansha's Nakayoshi magazine in October 2020. In the international market, Kodansha USA Publishing launched the ninth volume in digital format in English on February 25 and is scheduled for physical release on December 30.

From paper to screen

The popularity of the series led to it receiving an anime adaptation for television, released on January 9. The production was broadcast globally through Crunchyroll, which also offers an English dub. Given the success of the first season, it has already been confirmed that the anime will have a second season, scheduled to premiere next year.
