When it
seemed that Jujutsu Kaisen was over with Sukuna's defeat in
September 2024, Gege Akutami surprised the world with an
unexpected sequel: Jujutsu Kaisen: Modulo. The story, set
68 years in the future, left fans with their mouths open thanks to the
introduction of aliens, new protagonists and revelations about the
fate of classic characters.
1.
Aliens and Jujutsu Magic Are Connected
The
Simurian invaders reveal that their powers are similar to those of the
sorcerers of Japan. This narrative bombshell opens the door to theories about
the real origin of the cursed techniques.
2. Yuta
and Maki got married... and they even had grandchildren
Among the
most commented pages is the confirmation that Yuta Okkotsu and Maki
Zenin got married, started a family and died of old age, happy and
peaceful. In Modulo we follow his grandchildren: Yuuk and Tsurugi.
3.
Sukuna is still the measuring stick
A cursed
user compares the impending alien invasion to Ryomen Sukuna's attack
decades ago. This reference emphasizes that Sukuna was, and still is, the most
brutal threat in the JJK universe.
4. Yuji
Itadori was seen as an extraordinary sorcerer
In the
flashbacks, Yuji is mentioned along with Satoru Gojo as
being responsible for stopping the Sukuna catastrophe. This reignites the
debate over whether Yuji became the second-strongest sorcerer of his time,
behind only Yuta.
5.
Jujutsu society weakened over time
The manga
shows that after the age of Gojo and the fall of Sukuna, both cursed spirits
and sorcerers became weaker. This leaves the new generation at a great
disadvantage in the face of the imminent alien invasion.
What do you
think: are you excited about this sci-fi twist with aliens in Jujutsu
Kaisen: Modulo, or do you feel that it breaks too much with the original
spirit of the work? We read them in the comments.
